Happy Day 13, friends. Today, we’re talking about loose ends.
One of my biggest realizations over these last 13 days of this reset has been just how many things I didn’t account for when I started.
My organizational journey is the perfect example. I knew I wanted to declutter and reset my home, but I completely underestimated how big of a project it would become.
For the last 13 days, I’ve been reorganizing my condo pretty religiously. Closets, drawers, attic spaces, kitchen cabinets, you name it. So far, I’ve tackled six closets, and somehow, there is still so much more to go.
Then there’s my home office. Since I work from home full time, I spend a huge portion of my life in that room, and lately, something about it just wasn’t working. The view felt off. The space felt stagnant. I needed a change.
What started as a simple switch-up turned into a much bigger project than I anticipated.
Add houseguests arriving this weekend, and suddenly I was scrambling to finish projects, put rooms back together, and get everything ready.
And I think this is where these resets get real.
When we start a sprint, challenge, or new habit routine, it’s easy to imagine ourselves checking every box every single day. Then life happens. Projects take longer. Schedules change. Something unexpected pops up. Your energy shifts.
The goal isn’t to abandon the reset when that happens. It’s to learn how to flow with it.
That’s what I’ve been practicing.
Instead of expecting 100% from myself in every category every day, I’m trying to do something in each area. Some days that means making huge progress. Other days, it might mean doing one small thing that keeps the momentum alive.
My workouts have been another example. I had to take a few days away, which wasn’t part of my original plan. But yesterday, I finally made it back to class, and it went surprisingly well. I’m feeling stronger and leaner, and I’m excited to keep building on that progress.
So maybe Day 13 isn’t really about tying up every loose end.
Maybe it’s about accepting that there will always be a few.
The question is: Where have you had to pivot lately? What setbacks or unexpected challenges showed up that you didn’t account for? And how did you work through them?
Resilience might just be one of our greatest strengths.
Keep going. I’ll catch up with you tomorrow for Day 14. 🤍
