Happy Day 10 to everyone out there!
As I talked about yesterday, I’m having to shift my focus away from working out for a few days and toward some of my other goals while I take some needed downtime to recover from a few beauty procedures. But in a way, that has given me an opportunity to put more energy into something else that has been high on my reset list: organization.
I’ve mentioned before that getting my home organized is one of my biggest goals during this reset. I’ve been going room by room, deep cleaning, decluttering, and really taking a look at what I need, what I don’t, and how I want each space to feel.
But there’s another part of decluttering that I haven’t talked about much: changing the actual flow of your space.
Sometimes it isn’t just about getting rid of things. Sometimes you need to move things around, try a new configuration, and give yourself a completely different perspective.
That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling about my office. I spend so much time there, and lately the space had started to feel a little stagnant. I needed a change.
So today, I spent a good amount of time flipping my office around and creating a configuration that feels better and gives the room a completely different flow. It’s definitely not perfect yet, but even before it’s finished, I can already feel the difference.
Tomorrow, I’ll tackle more of the decluttering portion, including my rather significant collection of books that desperately needs to be downsized. That one might hurt a little!
But I really can’t recommend refreshing your space enough, especially if it’s somewhere you spend a lot of your time. There’s something about changing your physical surroundings that can shift your perspective mentally, too. It creates new energy, breaks up the monotony, and can make something familiar feel fresh again.
As you continue your own reset, remember that sometimes a fresh start doesn’t have to mean completely reinventing your life. It might simply mean finding one area that feels stagnant and changing it.
That change could be mental. It could be physical. It could be as simple as moving your desk to the other side of the room.
And for those of us who work from home, refreshing the space where we spend so much of our day might be one of the easiest ways to create a little momentum and make this month of challenges feel new again.
Sometimes, you just need a different view.
Until next time. ❤️
