Happy Tuesday, everyone.
As the week moves along, I wanted to take a moment to talk about tracking and accountability because that’s really what this journey is all about.
This isn’t about judging yourself. It’s about showing up.
When you’re building new habits, it’s easy to get discouraged. You miss a workout. You have a meal that wasn’t part of the plan. You skip a day of journaling or forget to check something off your list. Before you know it, that one moment turns into a tailspin, and you convince yourself you’ve failed.
But that’s not what this challenge is about.
These 30 days aren’t meant to be a finish line. They’re an opportunity to build habits that will carry us into the fourth quarter of the year and, hopefully, well beyond that.
I’ll be honest. Today is one of those days where I’m struggling a bit. We’ve made the plan. We’ve started building momentum. But now, some days feel like I’m trudging through mud just trying to accomplish the basics.
And that’s okay.
There will be days when you don’t have your best workout. Days when your nutrition isn’t perfect. Days when life gets in the way and you simply don’t have the energy.
Give yourself a little grace.
The goal isn’t to be perfect every single day. The goal is for the majority of your days to move the needle forward, even if it’s only a little. Consistency will always outperform perfection.
Take a moment today to reflect on what’s working and what isn’t. Maybe your habits need to be adjusted. Maybe your goals were a little too ambitious. That’s not failure. That’s learning.
The best habit-building systems evolve over time, and the sooner you recognize what needs to change, the easier it becomes to build habits that truly stick.
I’d love to hear from you. What’s been the biggest challenge so far? Have you discovered a habit that isn’t realistic, or have you found something that’s working even better than you expected?
Let’s keep learning from each other. One day at a time.
