As we close out January and step into February, I always like to set an intention around what I want to learn, do, or focus on next.
Looking back, January held plenty of highs and lows. It’s such a powerful reset month—everything feels fresh and full of possibility—but it can also be hard. For many, it’s the coldest month of the year. We’ve seen challenging weather across the country, and the news, both at home and globally, hasn’t slowed down. It’s been a heavy month in many ways.
And yet, January is also when so many people turn inward—regrouping, reflecting, and doing the work. Whether that meant spending more time with loved ones, recommitting to personal goals, or prioritizing mental health, there’s something deeply meaningful about that reset. January often asks us to face things honestly, and there’s nothing wrong with seeking guidance or support during that process. It’s a time to restructure, recalibrate, and prepare ourselves for the rest of the year.
As we move into February, though, I’m craving a little more lightness.
We’ve done a lot of inner work. Now I want to gently shift the focus outward—to the aesthetic, the tangible, the things that spark joy. What do you want to put in place now for summer? I firmly believe that summer energy is built in the winter. The routines we establish now, the habits we nurture quietly, are what carry us forward.
My workouts have ramped up this month for a few reasons. January can be quiet, and movement is a great distraction—but more than that, it reconnects me to my body. It gets me out of the house, into shared spaces, surrounded by other women. There’s something incredibly energizing about that collective momentum.
So for February, I’ll be focusing on the outer world again—our homes, our bodies, our makeup, our wardrobes. The building blocks that make life feel a little more fun, a little more intentional, and a lot more us.
Starting tomorrow, February 1st, I’ll be sharing my recommendations across all things outer beauty. I hope you’ll join me—and I’d love to hear what you’re focusing on this winter as you prepare to be your best self by summer.
