It’s January 19th. The resolutions are starting to fall by the wayside. Maybe you had a long weekend. Maybe you slipped off your routine. Maybe you’ve found yourself back in habits you swore you’d leave behind in 2025.
And here’s the part nobody talks about:
Setting intentions isn’t the hard part. The hard part is building a plan that’s sustainable and learning how to keep showing up for yourself with honesty, even when you fall off.
I’ll be real. I’ve fallen off a bit.
My goal for 2026 was to focus on my health, stress levels, and eating better. Right now, I’m five pounds heavier than when I wrote those resolutions. My stress has been off the charts. And even though January has been full of fun moments, trips, family time, busy days, I can feel myself slipping away from the routines that keep me grounded.
So as we move into February, I’m not trying to “start over.” I’m slowing down, reevaluating, and getting things back in order.
One thing that’s been helping me is tracking my goals in smaller pieces instead of treating them like one giant yearly mountain. I think in quarters. I focus on the next few months at a time and give myself space to adjust, retool, and stay honest about what’s actually working.
For me, that looks like:
adding new after-work activities to get out of the house, because working from home can really blur the lines paying attention to my mental health and stress levels getting back to whole foods and home-cooked meals simplifying the routine so it’s realistic, not perfect
And I’m curious. How is January going for you?
Have you fallen off any goals? Have you had to shift your plan or reset your routine?
No judgment here. I’d genuinely love to hear what you’re working on and what you’re trying to get back to. Drop it in the comments.
